GetVideoFast

A practical guide to downloading videos

How to find share links, choose a compatible quality and understand why some downloads are unavailable.

Start with a public post you created, or material you have explicit permission to save. Use the platform's share button to copy the exact post URL. GetVideoFast checks the public link before preparing a file, so you can confirm that you chose the correct video.

Before pasting a link

  1. Open the individual video, not a user's profile or a playlist.
  2. Make sure you are permitted to save the content; a public post is not a license for reuse.
  3. If a link is shortened, keep the full link copied by the platform's Share feature.
  4. For the best result, try Best available first; smaller resolutions can reduce file size.

Tips by platform

TikTok

Copy the video's Share link. Depending on the source, an original file may already contain an embedded creator watermark; GetVideoFast cannot erase it from the picture.

Instagram

Choose a public Reel or video post and copy its link. Private accounts, stories behind a login and content requiring authentication are not supported.

YouTube

Copy a link to one public video, not a channel or playlist. Some streams need audio and video to be merged. Platform rules may restrict downloads.

Facebook

Use the direct link to a public video or Reel. Audience-restricted posts and content visible only after signing in cannot be fetched.

X

Copy the link to the post containing the video. Not every media post offers a downloadable format, and login or regional restrictions may apply.

Pinterest

Use the direct link to a video Pin. Image-only Pins will not produce a video, and the available quality is set by the source.

If your video doesn't load

Confirm the link opens a single public video in a private browser window, then try again. Some sites change access methods regularly; temporary failures do not necessarily mean the video has been removed.
